There’s a new Blackberry phone – the Blackberry Motion

Blackberry fans have had a rough go of it lately, but there are now a few options to choose from.  After announcing the Priv and KEYOne devices, there is now a 3rd Blackberry in the stable – the Blackberry Motion, advertised as Blackberry’s “all screen phone” which as you can probably tell from the photo, not exactly accurate, but this device still exists nonetheless.

This newest device will feature a 5.5″ FHD display, powered by a Snapdragon 625 processor and 4GB of RAM memory, with 32GB of storage.  It will host a beefy 4000mah battery which (when paired with the 625 and a 1080p display) should deliver excellent battery life.  The cameras are a rear 12MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture and a front facing 8MP selfie camera.  It will also feature an IP67 water and dust resistance rating, which is pretty great for a Blackberry device.  Its powered by Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 via USB-Type C and still does have a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The large bottom bezel houses a logo button that also doubles as the fingerprint scanner.  While this isn’t an elegant solution, hey at least TCL is trying something new, which is great for the brand and the industry in general.  It’s unlikely there are any Blackberry loyalists left out there, but if you are one of them, be warned – this device is set for a launch primarily in the Middle East and will come to other regions “thereafter.”  So you might be in for a bit of a wait.  It should retail around $450 US though so at least it won’t break the bank if you decide to wait.
